Examples of Good and Bad Websites

The companies that I have selected are the Progressive and Small Insurance Company. Such two insurance companies offer coverage to consumers, with the only exception that one is larger than the other. For capital and business growth, there are great benefits, such as a clean website that can be easily accessed and can be successful in carrying out the mission. Personally, I have a background in knowing what a good website is and how much time it takes to make a website that is clean and modernized enough for users to continue using it and remember the site and the business for potential use. During the summer I was interned at Comcast for the Xfinity mobile division, where I was lucky enough to test and debug the Xfinity mobile webpage from the backend. To truly understand the website, you need to understand that feature of the site and build test cases against its restriction to make sure that the website does what we intended to do.

For example, when you reach the progressive website, the very first thing you'll see are the types of quotes you can get from progressive ones like auto, house, renter, RV / trailer, motorcycle condo, and boat / PWC. It also provides an option called more choice to look at other insurance that has to be offered on a progressive basis. Progressive decision to show these lists first is that these are the most common insurance customers who want to get a quote. To make it easier, progressive displays their company phone number next to the login and also offers a local agent in the vicinity. In terms of digital transparency, they succeed as they know what the customer wants and develop strategies to add additional details within the options and across the web page in a way that does not interfere with sales.

The explanation that the second small insurance agency website is not as big as progressive is of how the information is shown to the customer. The first thing you will see when you first reach the website is a fax number and their address along with their phone number. They do not reflect what goods they offer, and instead, they depend on the consumer to contact them to know the products. The same applies to quotes, when you click on the quote button, the website will require you to fill out the form with the customer information and the type of insurance the customer wants. It will then be sent to the agency review and the customer will be called back. To people who don't want to speak to an agent and want a real quick offer, the small insurance company wouldn't do that. The information they provide isn't as reliable and user-friendly as progressive or any other strong website. For this reason, the Small Insurance Agency would be considered a bad website.
